Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra could be Meghan Markle’s bridesmaid

A Bollywood actress who apparently never reads her emails could be one of the bridesmaids to accompany Meghan Markle when she weds next May.

There is speculation that Priyanka Chopra will be asked by Ms Markle to be part of her bridal party when she gets married to Prince Harry in Windsor on 19 May.

Ms Chopra hit the headlines earlier this year when a friend posted a picture of her holding her phone which displayed more than 250,000 unread emails.

But she was already one of Bollywood’s biggest stars and a regular on the red carpet.

She was most recently in Baywatch, where she played Victoria Leeds alongside Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

Ms Markle met the former Miss World at a party in Toronto, when she was filming Suits.

She has shared pictures of the two of them together, thanking her for “girl talk”, and Ms Chopra congratulated her friend on Instagram when her engagement to the prince was announced.

The 35-year-old is also an ambassador for Unicef, so she and Ms Markle may have shared interests in humanitarian work.

They frequently refer to each other as “my girl” or “my babe” on social media.

Ms Chopra also leapt to her friend’s defence when she feared she’d become known as Harry’s girlfriend.

She told People: “Sometimes women become plus-ones and guys become plus-ones. It’s who is on the radar more.

“I think in an overall scheme of things, it’s harder for girls to be able to make their own and stand for what they are, and I’m a girl love kind of girl.”

Jessica Mulroney is also rumoured to be in the mix, and Ms Markle took her to the Invictus Games to meet Prince Harry soon after they made their first official public appearance.

Serena Williams could also be on the shortlist, as the two have been friends since 2014.

Former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh is close friends with the American actress as well, and could be a contender.

Kensington Palace confirmed Ms Markle and Prince Harry will marry on 19 May, 2018, at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

The couple has said they want to be able to involve the public in their big day, but further details have not yet been confirmed.
