New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady suffers hand injury

Written by on 18/01/2018

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was restricted to limited practice on Wednesday due to a hand injury.

Brady did not attend a scheduled AFC championship news conference because he was meeting with the team medical staff.

The 40-year-old was listed on the Patriots’ first injury report of the week, but team spokesman Stacey James did not reveal the extent of the injury.

Brady appeared on the Patriots’ weekly injury report several times during the latter half of the regular season with an Achilles tendon and left shoulder injury.

New England held their first practice earlier in the day in preparation for Sunday’s AFC Championship game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Brady has never missed a playoff start during his 18-year career and was named the Pro Football Writers of America MVP for the third time on Wednesday after another standout season.

He started all 16 games and led the NFL with 4,577 passing yards to go along with 32 touchdown passes and just eight interceptions and his 102.8 passer rating was third-best in the NFL.
