Liam Gallagher has asked a fan who fears she has been scarred for life after being struck by a flare at one of his concerts to get in touch with him.

Stacey Andrew was set on fire after someone fired a flare during the show at the Sheffield FlyDSA Arena on Monday evening.

She and her partner Callum Mutton were treated in hospital after suffering burns.

Ms Andrew, 27, from Boston in Lincolnshire, said: “The flare hit my head and fell down my top, at first I didn’t realise what had happened until people shouted,” The Star reported.

“It looks like someone let a firework off on my chest. I didn’t realise what had happened then people started patting me. My shirt was in flames and a man ripped it off.

“I’m scared I’m going to be scarred for life,” she said.

The singer tweeted on Wednesday: “I’m sorry to hear what happened to Stacey Andrew in Sheffield the other night it’s not cool people need to chill the f*** out with the flares can someone from her family get in contact with us thanx LG x.”

The woman’s brother, Leon Andrew, posted on Facebook, urging anyone with information to come forward, calling the culprit a “scumbag” who “needs to pay for what he has done”.

A subsequent post appeared to identify the area where the flare came from and, he said, those responsible.

The Fly DSA Arena said it was “extremely sorry” to hear about the “irresponsible” actions of the concert-goer, the BBC said.

Dominic Stokes, from the Fly DSA Arena, said: “The irresponsible behaviour of the concert-goer who threw the flare along with any other people within their party who were aware of the possibility of their actions cannot be condoned and they should be held accountable for their actions.”

The terrifying incident occurred at what Ms Andrew said was her first concert, and “there was no proper first aid.

“It was so embarrassing, I was just in my bra. The Red Cross saw us but their tap wasn’t running so they had to find water. The on-site nurse was good and covered my dignity as best as she could.”

Her partner Mr Mutton eventually drover her to hospital.

South Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation and said in a statement: “It is reported that a 21-year-old man and a woman he was with, whose age is not known, were in the audience of a concert and were allegedly hit by a flare that was thrown from behind them.

“They both suffered burns and received treatment at the Northern General Hospital before returning home to recover.”
