Written by on 07/04/2021

People are being urged not to miss their chance to have their say in upcoming elections with less than two weeks left to register to vote, and apply for a postal vote.

The deadline for applying online to register to vote is Monday 19th April, and anyone wishing to apply for a postal vote must submit their form in time for in to be received by their local borough or district council before 5pm on Tuesday 20 April.

All 84 seats on Lancashire County Council are up for election on Thursday 6 May, with those elected due to serve a 4-year term as a county councillor.

The county council provides local government services in Lancashire including education, fostering and adoption, health and social care, cultural services, libraries and archives, registering births, deaths and marriages, recycling, trading standards and highways and transport.

Elections will also take place for Police and Crime Commissioners in Cumbria and Lancashire.

Special arrangements are being made to ensure polling stations are Covid-safe for everyone who wants to vote in person, such as having screens up and asking people to bring their own pen or pencil.
