Project Search graduation event

This year’s Project Search interns celebrated their success recently at a fantastic graduation event at Madame Tussauds.
Project Search is a supported internship programme for young adults with learning difficulties and/or autism, managed by Blackpool Council’s Adult and Community Learning Team.
The evening was hosted by Madame Tussauds and brought together interns, Project Search staff, employers who have supported the programme and representatives from the council.
Interns develop key employability skills by experiencing three work placements at a variety of organisations across Blackpool. With the support of job coaches, each intern is able to learn each role, in addition to gaining the opportunity to complete and achieve competitive work skills along the way.
Cllr Mark Smith, Cabinet Member for Business, Enterprise and Job Creation, said, “The Project Search programme is a fantastic opportunity for young adults with learning difficulties and it was wonderful to be able to celebrate their great achievements on this occasion.”
