Man found in River Kent identified

Police can confirm that the body found in the River Kent on Saturday (October 7th) has been formally identified as Kendal man John Stephenson.
The 36-year-old was found by a member of the public down from Romney Bridge, shortly after 5pm.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and the Coroner has been informed.
