A well-known voice on local radio returned to the airwaves on Bay Trust Radio on the May Bank Holiday Monday.
Ian Timms has a new show weekly from Sunday 5th September on the local radio station for North Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Ian’s new Sunday Late Show will be on air every week between 10pm and 1am, with great music selections and conversation through the evening.
John Williamson, Station Manager of Bay Trust Radio, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ian to the team as we prepare to expand our service across Morecambe Bay. Ian is an excellent presenter who we know has been missed. We’re all looking forward to the new sound of Sunday nights!”
As he prepared his first show, Ian Timms said: “I can’t wait to be back on air with Bay Trust Radio. If I can play some of your favourite songs and put a smile on your face, that’s great. Community radio is where I started nearly four decades ago; it’s terrific to be home.”
Ian has been broadcasting for more than 30 years – with more than 6000 shows ranging from breakfast to drive, news to music and most recently on late nights on BBC Radio. He joins a busy team of volunteers who present and produce programmes for the station, which broadcasts a mix of music and local information.
Bay Trust Radio is currently available inside local hospitals and online through the website, smart speakers and apps. The station will also launch on digital radio across Morecambe Bay later this year.
