Free Family Bikeability Training available in Carlisle and Kendal this Summer

A free training package for families to develop cycling skills, grow confidence and plan enjoyable and safe rides is available in Carlisle and Kendal this summer.

The Carlisle sessions take place at Robert Ferguson Primary School (Carlisle) on 1,2,3,4 and 5 August.

In Kendal, the venue will be Heron Hill Primary School on 8,9,10,11, and 12 August.

There are morning sessions available from 9am – 12pm and afternoon sessions from 12.30pm – 3.30pm.

Active Cumbria, part of Cumbria County Council’s Public Health Team, are supporting the training programme which has been organised by Cyclewise. Sessions are for up to 6 people from one family and at least one trainee must be an adult. All riders must be able to set off, pedal, slow down, and stop.

All riders ae required to take along a roadworthy bike and helmet. E-bikes, adaptive bikes, cargo bikes, and bikes with child seats can be accommodated.
