An initiative by Bay Trust Radio has helped to send some festive cheer through our local hospitals this Christmas.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and our hard working team of volunteers, nearly 100 boxes of chocolates have been delivered to wards and departments across our hospitals as a small way to say thank you to all the teams at our local NHS Trust for their hard work during this extremely challenging year. The gifts were delivered to Westmorland General Hospital and Royal Lancaster Infirmary earlier this week.
John Williamson, Station Manager at Bay Trust Radio, said: “For at least 30 years our charity has sent our thanks to wards and departments at our local hospitals, and this year we didn’t want to stop the tradition. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of local people and businesses who were more than happy to donate and say thank you! We’re very pleased to bring some festive cheer to the hospitals, especially to the people who have been going above and beyond during the last year.”
The station will also be celebrating with a Christmas full of special programmes for patients and staff in our hospitals. Presenters will host festive specials throughout the week with guests dropping in, acoustic performances and more.
Bay Trust Radio would also like to thank Bay Hospitals Charity for organising delivery in accordance with covid guidelines.
