Andy Mitchell plays the decades

Broadcaster and journalist Andy Mitchell is joining Bay Trust Radio to present a new Friday Night Decades Show.
Every Friday from 10pm Andy will be winding back the clock “to the way radio used to sound” 40 years ago with all the sounds and songs you won’t have heard for a while! After 11pm there will also be a retro chart countdown from this week in the 70s or 80s, and truly sounding like you’re back there.
Andy has been on the radio most of his life, starting as a volunteer at Blackpool’s hospital radio service and then working at radio stations across the North West. You may also recognise his voice from the trams and buses around the Fylde Coast!
The show starts ahead of a new schedule launching on Bay Trust Radio from Monday 21st September, with more details to follow soon.
John Williamson, Station Manager, said: “We are delighted to welcome Andy Mitchell to the station at this exciting time for Bay Trust Radio. Andy has always been a keen supporter of our station and we’re all looking forward to enjoying some of the best sounds of the 70s and 80s on a Friday Night.”
Bay Trust Radio is a local radio service providing programmes 24 hours a day for people living in North Lancashire, South Cumbria and the Fylde Coast. The station is the only local radio service run entirely by volunteers with studios in Kendal and Blackpool.
