No military to be deployed to Saturday’s FA Cup final, say police

There are no plans to deploy military personnel around Wembley Stadium for the FA Cup final on Saturday, Sky News has learned.
A Scotland Yard source has confirmed that fans can expect to see extra police resources, including armed officers, stationed in and around the stadium for the match between Arsenal and Chelsea.
Exact details of the policing deployment are still being finalised, but Army personnel will not be involved.

A number of public events are taking place in the capital over the weekend.
All are expected to go ahead, but with added police security.
Scotland Yard wants to ensure that, despite the "critical" terror threat level, public events can still proceed as normal.

Almost a thousand soldiers have been deployed to help guard key buildings in London and some others locations, to help free up around 1,000 armed police officers for counter-terror policing and proactive patrolling.
Ministers say almost 4,000 military personnel are available in the days ahead, and can be deployed to guard duties, should authorities feel the need to free up more armed police officers.
