Local Marks & Spencer Stores Look Safe

Kendal and Lancaster’s Marks and Spencer stores have escaped the chain’s new proposed closure list.
It was revealed in November 2016 that a number of Marks and Spencer stores in the UK were to shut as part of a radical shake-up, raising concern locally.
It was believed that both Carlisle and Barrow’s Marks & Spencer stores were at risk of closure due to the slowdown of the high street.
Marks & Spencer has announced today it is proposing to close six stores in other parts of the country.
